We aim to provide support to all young people within our care, to a standard of excellence which embraces fundamental principles of Good Care Practice.

This may be witnessed and evaluated through the practice, conduct and control of quality support within the Service.

Our objectives for our 16+ accommodation and support services are to help develop young people with the aim of allowing them to live independently using the range of skills that we would have helped them to develop including:

  • To ensure young people live in a clean, comfortable and safe environment, and be treated with respect and sensitivity to their individual needs and abilities.
  • To deliver flexible, attentive and a non-discriminatory support service while respecting each child’s right to independence, privacy, dignity, fulfilment.
  • To ensure that each child’s needs and values are respected in matters of religion, culture, race or ethnic origin, sexuality and sexual orientation, political affiliation, and disabilities or impairments.
  • To ensure that the Support Service in whole is delivered in accordance with agreed Contracts for Support.
  • To foster an atmosphere of support with young people, which enables and encourages personal choice, achievement, independence, diversity, empowerment, personal rights and overall well-being
  • To offer skilled care to enable young people supported by us to achieve their optimum state of physical and mental health and well-being.
  • Recognise the individual uniqueness and treat all young people supported by us and all people who work here with respect at all times.
  • Respect individual requirements for privacy at all times and treat all information relating to individuals in a confidential manner.
  • Recognise the individual need for personal fulfilment and offer an individualised programme of meaningful activity to satisfy the needs of the young people.
  • To implement a Positive Behaviour Support approach to further understand the reasons for challenging behaviour and consideration of the young person’s life history, physical health and emotional needs – allowing the suitable level of support to be implemented.
